Diet Pepsi and some Chocolate Zucchini cake

Back to school today. Not quite as much fun today. Emma and Tori both had their moments. Emma, "you said I should never get my name on the board, mom", had to use the restroom pretty badly towards the end of the day. She asked the teacher if she could go, but her teacher told her she would have to put her name on the board. Emma almost didn't make it to me after school. I asked her if she went to the bathroom at the times her teacher instructed her and she said yes. We told her today that I guess needing to go to the bathroom when it really is an emergency is an ok thing get your name of the board. Is it just me, or does that seem a little extreme? I teach 6th graders and I let them go.

Tori also had a rough day. According to her she was supposed to be writing the letter B, but instead was talking with another student so she had to flip a card and owe 5 minutes of her recess. I'm not really surprised. Tori loves to have a good time and if someone is willing to talk to her she is able. We had quite a few tears at home tonight, but after some problem solving she is ready to go back to school.

After such a traumatic day, Tori and I made Chocolate Zucchini cake together. She loves to help out in the kitchen. She especially loves to run the mixer and do the eggs. She really is quite good at cracking the eggs and we don't end up with any shells in the batter.
While we were making the cake Tori discovered my Diet Pepsi. Mark informed her that it didn't have any caffeine so she decided she should drink it. I don't know where I fouled up. I did really great with Emma and didn't give her any soda until she was like 4 years old. She really could take it or leave it, but Tori. . .she loves soda, especially Diet Pepsi or Coke, she's not really choosy. Hopefully I haven't messed her up too bad. She does look like a commercial though, pretty cute.

The whole bathroom thing for a name on the board was extreme! I'm with you on that one. Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Sounds like you had some "good times" at your house last night. It must of been a good day to cook with your daughter because Aubrey and I made cookies together yesterday too.

Not only is it extreme it is illegal...it is considered corporal punishment to not let them go...shame is not a good motivator!

I would have been Emma and not gone so I didn't have to have my name on the board althoug as an adult that seems VERY wrong. Glad you were able to do something fun last night also.

Hey Michelle, have you asked Tori about the "Stinky Diaper Change" song?
