Raspberry Picking and Jam

This morning the girls, my mom and I headed to the local farm to pick raspberries. When I was a kid I picked raspberries for a local family and got paid. I remember that my mom made me sock gloves to protect my arms while I picked so I took some old baseball socks and cut finger holes in them so that Emma and I could wear them while we picked today. Emma thought I was crazy at first, but by the end thought her mom was pretty smart. Funny though, my mom didn't remember doing that for me. I guess it was too long ago.

We also bought a flat of strawberries. When we got home, the girls helped me squish all of the berries so I could make freezer jam. We love freezer jam and every year I try to make enough to get us through the winter. I have 32 pints in the freezer now, but I still don't think that is quite enough. We may have to go back for more berries.

What an impressive accomplishment! I might use the sock idea for picking blackberries this year ;)

Your layout is so cute. I need you to come down and help me install those handwriting fonts...please...

What a cool layout with the raspberries subtly there! Looks yummy - I need to give something like that a try.

Yummo! I love homemade jam. I am glad that you were able to make a similar memory for your girls that your mom made for you.

Your family must be big jam fans. Lauren is it for us so 32 would last a long time. Love the layout and the memory.
