Is summer here yet?

I thought summer was the "lazy days of summer"? I volunteer for an aviation experience that took place this week. It is 4 hours each day. I made it on the news last night, but I haven't seen it and couldn't find a link to it online. The girls have been going to Vacation Bible School in the morning. Emma had softball Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening. Tori started swimming lessons Monday. I haven't found the lazy part yet. Needless to say it's Thursday and I have not posted anything about the week.

Tori has been doing great in swim lessons. She really loves the water. She got in a little trouble from her teacher today. She is supposed to stay on the wall while she waits for her turn (there is only 3 in her class) but she is constantly going underwater and swimming along side the wall. The teacher had to ask her more than once to stay on the wall. I guess I'm still on the side that at least she is not clinging to the wall, but I did get after her and she finally was listening to her teacher better. Going off the diving board is one of Tori's favorite thing to do.

Emma had her last softball game on Wednesday evening. Yipee!!!! It is over. Not that I didn't enjoy Emma playing softball, but it has been 4 nights a week since the beginning of May. I am glad to see it over.

Tonight though felt like summer. Tori, Alyssa, Aubrey took a long bike ride with Cheryl and I this evening. Tori is very hesitant on her bike. She is afraid she is going to fall and forgets that she controls where the bike goes. She made the loop tonight. I was very proud of her. Of course, one block from Cheryl's house she did fall, but I made her get back on. I think by the end of summer she will be an old pro and I should be in great shape. It was actually a work out with her on her bike. I had to jog to keep up. Much different from all of the walks we have taken where I am stopping to wait for the girls to catch up. For pictures from the walk, check out Cheryl's blog.

Sounds like Tori is doing great with swimming. Bike rides are a wonderful part of summer but I was doing the jogging thing with Lauren the other night also. I was tired after our little walk.
