Happy Father's Day

Today was such a beautiful day for Father's day. Mark and the girls slept in and I went early to sing at church. After I got home, Mark, the girls, and I headed to "the acres", otherwise known as Mom and Jim's property. Jim had rotatilled the garden so we all headed out to help plant. We planted at least 5 rows of corn and an entire row of potatoes. We will definitely have some to share if it grows. The girls helped for awhile.

Tori was first to quit helping. I can't blame her, the giant hill of dirt was calling her. She would climb up the side like "a spider". We finally figured out that she meant like Spiderman. Pretty soon Emma couldn't resist the hill either so she soon joined in the fun. After we tired of playing on the hill we took turns taking rides on Grampa's hand truck. After we had the garden all planted we ate and then headed to John and Cindi's for ice cream cake for Father's day. Always good.

I bought some strawberries before I came home for church, so tonight Emma helped me take the tops off and then make strawberry freezer jam. Both girls then had toast with jam on it for their bedtime snack. Strawberry jam is one of those things that reminds me summer is almost here. Besides raspberry jam there is nothing better. While we made jam Mark watched the race, the Laker game, and some golf. A perfect Father's day for him.

Your Mom and Jim dropped off the carseats last night and said what you had been doing. Sounds like you guys are going to have a TON of corn! I will try and resist coming up for a pb&j later today...hee hee

Glad you and your family were able to enjoy the sun. I'm loving this weather and sorry to know it is ending. Tell Emma that Lauren has that same shirt.
