Carving of the Pumpkins

Tonight we went to Lonnie and Cheryl's for dinner and pumpkin carving. Thanks Cheryl for dinner. It was great. Tori has been talking about carving pumpkins since last year. We didn't do it last year and she hasn't forgotten. About a week ago she told me she really wanted to carve them and I had "better not forget this time."

All of the girls were really into it this year. Alyssa dug right into her pumpkin, using her hands to get the guts out. Emma and Tori were not as quick to get slimy, but the cleaned it out nonetheless. Emma and Alyssa carved their own and Tori only needed a little help. I remember from previous years, Cheryl and I doing most of the work and girls not even in the kitchen. As a matter of fact I think I have a picture of the adults carving and the kids off playing.

Here are a few pictures from our fun evening. Again, thanks Cheryl.

This picture is slightly overexposed, but still cute with their pumpkins.

I'm glad that you and Cheryl aren't opposed to the pumpkin guts!

It was lots of fun. Aubrey had to go check on the pumpkins this morning to make sure they made it through the night. I do remember the year when it was just us adults left at the table. We are making progress by having two of them carve their own pumpkins this year!
