Hanging Wood Subway Art

So excited about this project.  I took lots of ideas I have seen and combined them all into one project.  First I thought about Ali Edwards challenge of "one word" for the year 2013.  I couldn't really pick only one word, so I picked lots.  I then typed all of words in "Word".  The words that were more important to me I typed more than once.  I typed the words completely and courage the most.

Once I had my words typed, I copied them and then went to www.wordle.net.  I was able to choose what colors I wanted and my font.

Once I had my words the way I wanted. I used the snipping tool to capture my words.  I then opened my saved words in Photoshop Elements.  I created a background the size of the wood I was going to use.  and then cropped my group of words to fit the background.  I added some colored shapes behind the words that corresponded with my words using the color picker. I then printed it.

I painted my piece of wood and then used Mod Podge to put my printed out words.  Then I spread a thin layer on the top of my words.

When everything was dry, I put two eye screws into the top, added some ribbon to create a bow and then hung it on the wall.
